Parish News – November issue

At their September meeting, the Watton at Stone Parish Council said farewell to Cllr Christine Dinnin after over 40 years of service to the village.

Parish Councillors past and present join in thanking her for the amazing length of service and for all the work she has done for the parish over the years. She has been a very hard working and committed councillor and will be greatly missed.

At their July meeting, the Parish Council co-opted two new members.
A belated welcome to Cllr Richard Lewis and Cllr Mark Richardson.

NOTICE OF REFERENDUM

Referendum on the adoption of the Neighbourhood Plan for

1. A referendum will be held on Thursday, 12th October 2023 to decide on the question below:

‘Do you want East Hertfordshire to use the Neighbourhood Plan for to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’

2. New applications for, or amendments or cancellations of postal votes and
amendments or cancellations of existing proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Wallfields,Pegs Lane,Hertford,Hertfordshire,SG13 8EQ, by 5 pm on Wednesday, 27th September 2023

3. New applications to vote by proxy at this referendum must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the above address by 5 pm on Wednesday, 4th October 2023.

4. Applications to vote by proxy at this referendum applied for on grounds of physical incapacity, or because of work reason that occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday, 4th October 2023must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Wallfields, Pegs Lane, Hertford, Hertfordshire, SG13 8EQ by 5 pm on Thursday, 12th October 2023.

The Parish Council in recent months has seen a big change in their councillors, they have said goodbye to Michael Smith, Kay Jancey, David Stock and Steve Block. It is now the turn of Ian Knight (after 31 years of service) and Helen McCash (after 24 years of service) who both resigned after the June Parish Council to make way for new councillors.
The Parish Council sincerely thank them for their contributions during their years of service as councillors. They will, like their recent predecessors, be greatly missed.
