Healthcare within the village is provided by the Watton Place Clinic, which is located on the High Street adjacent to the junction with Station Road.
Watton Place Clinic is home to the local Doctors’ Practice, although a Dental Practice is also located within the same building. The clinic is open Monday to Friday from 0830 to 1830, with the exception of Wednesday when we close at 1300.
Our resident GP is Dr. Dilesh Shah MRCHB MRCGP DRCOG. The Practice runs a scheme of emergency/same-day appointments and routine/advance appointments, all on a Monday-to-Friday basis.
We are fortunate in having an on-site Dispensary, which means that the Practice is able to dispense medication to all of its rural patients; avoiding the need for inconvenient trips to other locations to collect prescriptions. Please allow 2 working-days for repeat prescriptions.
We also offer online booking to our patients. You can register to book advance appointments and to order your repeat prescriptions online. You will need your own email address to do this. Please contact Reception for more information.

Doctors
You can make appointments to see a Doctor by phone on 01920 830232, or by visiting our Receptionist.
Appointment lines are open from 0830 until 1830, except on Wednesday when they are open from 0830 until 1300.
For same day appointments to see the duty doctor, please phone at 0830 for mornings and at 1500 for afternoons (please note that on Wednesday it is morning appointments only).
For advance appointments to see the Doctor of your choice, you can contact us at any time during normal opening hours.
If you would like to be able to book appointments in advance via our online service, please speak to Reception. You will need to come into the surgery with photo ID and your email address to register for the service. This will also enable you to order repeat prescriptions online.
We would like to introduce SMS text messaging to all our patients so please make sure we have your mobile phone number.
District Nurse
If you wish to speak to a District Nurse, please contact Reception between 0900 and 1645.

The Phlebotomist attends the Watton Place Clinic on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Antenatal clinics are held at Beane Valley Childrens Centre, Clappers Lane, Watton.

If you feel that you have cause for a complaint, please contact the Practice Manager.

If you are a carer who looks after a relative, neighbour or friend, please register at Reception so we can offer you flexible appointments, free flu jabs, NHS health checks and a referral to Carers in Herts. They are able to offer you more, including a discount card, an assessment for you, and carers passport, they can also help with respite care and benefits advice. Health Checks
The NHS Health check is a national risk assessment and prevention programme which identifies people at risk of developing heart disease, stroke, diabetes, kidney disease or certain types of dementia, and helps them take action to avoid, reduce or manage their care. Please make an appointment to see the nurse if you would like to take advantage of this benefit.
